Head of Zeus campaign kicks off for Dan Jones’ debut historical novel Essex Dogs

Head of Zeus has kicked off its campaign for Dan Jones’ debut historical novel ESSEX DOGS, the first in his new Hundred Years War trilogy.

The campaign began with a series of character murals painted on to eight bookshop windows, including Maldon Books, Waterstones Norwich and Topping & Company in Edinburgh. Created by Ash Fields from Our Tiny Windows, more murals are set to appear leading up to the book’s publication on the 15 September, including Booka Bookshop in Oswestry, Waterstones stores in Canterbury, Chelmsford and Brentwood, and finally Goldsboro in Covent Garden.

The images will also be used as part of an extensive digital campaign, across social media and retailer sites using static and animated images, and on special bookmarks to introduce the characters in the book. Specialist independent bookseller Broken Binding has also created a sprayed-edge, limited edition of the book. From the 5 September, Jones will be starting his UK-wide book tour, starting at Topping & Company in Edinburgh. He is also releasing a documentary series linked to the book on History Hit and a podcast.

ESSEX DOGS will be published by Head of Zeus on 15 September, when the audiobook, voiced by “The Crown” star Ben Miles, is also being released.
