
Olivette Otele shortlisted for the 2023 Laura Shannon Prize for the best book in contemporary European studies
We are very pleased to announce that AFRICAN EUROPEANS: An Untold Story by Olivette Otele has been shortlisted for the 2023 Laura Shannon Prize for the best book in contemporary European studies.
Carrying a prize of $10,000, it is awarded to the author of the best book in European studies that transcends a focus on any one country, state, or people to stimulate new ways of thinking about contemporary Europe as a whole, and it is recognized internationally as one of the leading book prizes in the field of European studies.
The 2023 prize will be awarded to the best book in history and the social sciences published in 2020 or 2021. The winning book will be selected by a jury of five eminent scholars in European studies, and the winner will be announced in January 2023.
