Daniel Chandler is an economist and philosopher. He has degrees in economics, philosophy and history from Cambridge and LSE, and was awarded a prestigious Henry Fellowship to study at Harvard where he worked under the supervision of Amartya Sen. Daniel is currently completing his doctorate in economics at LSE, where his research focuses on the impact of technology on inequality and the future of work. He is a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Future of Work and a Commissioning Editor of the journal Renewal.

Previously, Daniel worked in the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit and in the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, and as a researcher at think tanks including the Institute for Fiscal Studies and the Resolution Foundation.

He is currently working on his first book which makes the case for a radical and egalitarian liberal politics grounded in the work of the philosopher John Rawls.
